Given her innate ability to fix spaceship engines and other mechanical things, Kaylee would actually be a Rock Gnome, creatures known to be good at tinkering, instead of a human. Being a member of the College of Valor represents Inara’s move from outside the Serenity’s crew to a member of the group, willing to do what it takes to protect her friends… and Mal. Although she’s more of a lover than a fighter, Inara would enter the College of Valor rather than the College of Lore. Inara has often helped the crew out of sticky situations through negotiation and deception. Bards are characters designed to primarily help the party through the use of their wits and performance. There are no classes in DnD that line up perfectly with “companion,” but Inara would probably choose to be a bard. Rogue’s come equipped with swords and daggers, but Mal’s the type to use stealth, persuasion, and when that fails, running away to win the day.
